Since its founding in 1999 in Downers Grove, Illinois, Crystal House has stood as a beacon of American crystal artistry — a place where fine craftsmanship meets heartfelt expression. In 2008, artists Elias Akwo and Chaz Nieponski took the reins and transformed the shop into a space of wonder — part boutique, part art gallery, part experience. Under their guidance, Crystal House evolved through eras of masterful crystal engraving, sculptural innovation, and deep partnerships with global brands. But the mission always remained the same: turn each piece of crystal glassware into a cherished story.

A breakthrough came when we engraved a crystal skyline for the U.S. State Department during President Obama’s 2008 Asia trip — a moment that opened doors to embassies, royal homes, and military partnerships.
