THE PROCESS
How deep sand carving works.
Deep sand carving is an exterior engraving process. A high-pressure stream of fine abrasive particles is directed through a precisely cut mask onto the crystal surface, cutting into the material to create visible, tactile depth. The result is permanent, dimensional, and impossible to replicate with laser technology.
Masking
The mask is applied precisely to the crystal surface, protecting areas that will remain smooth while exposing the areas to be carved.
Sand Carving
A controlled stream of fine abrasive particles cuts into the exposed crystal surface. Depth, angle, and pressure are adjusted by our artisans to achieve the desired tactile result.
Hand Finishing
The mask is removed and the piece is hand-finished. Edges are refined, the surface is cleaned, and the carving is inspected under studio lighting before proceeding.
Quality Inspection & Packaging
Every finished piece is inspected against the original proof, packaged in Crystal House presentation materials, and prepared for delivery or collection.
