Depicted in manuscripts and drawings dating back to the Hellenistic period, the figure of the Zodiac Man (Homo signorum) portrayed a connection between signs and parts of the body: Aries associated with the head, Taurus associated with the neck, Gemini associated with the shoulders, and so on. Zodiac Woman is an evolution of the concept of Homo signorum for the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century, emphasizing a moment in which women are gaining a greater role in all fields of knowledge and the arts.
With the unmistakable features of the Brazilian artist Evelyn Tannus, the collectible Calendar Plate for 2021 has a second skin tattooed with the signs, maintaining the same body-zodiac relationship developed in Classical Antiquity.
