Vista Alegre's historic heritage is one of its main defining elements. Today, despite being recognized for its avant-garde design as well as the dynamics of its creative and technological partnerships, the brand continues to revisit its aesthetic heritage, often from a contemporary perspective. This is the case with the new Urban@VA project, where an old porcelain water pitcher for personal hygiene, recovered from the Vista Alegre Museum archive, is used in an unexpected intersection with urban art.
Three Portuguese graffiti artists - Violant, MrDheo and Odeith - apply their art and technique to a slightly reformulated replica of the pitcher, giving rise to three exclusive decorative pieces, limited to 195 copies. An old utilitarian object thus rediscovers its function in a modern decorative context, and Vista Alegre again demonstrates the possibilities of expanding its memory by means of young artists’ talent.
